WEB ||

In this web section you'll notice that there are some before and after items, otherwise the sites are all new. With my background in commercial art, I give each client a unique feel using a variety of scripting languages from ActionScripting, ASP, CGI, CSS, DHTML, Javascript, PERL, PHP, XML as well as backend databases to connect to such as Access, SQL Server, and MySQL for storing user information. I also develop sites using Flash MX 2004, or use Flash for interactive games as well.

I have worked on e-commerce sites, ebay sites, small banners for advertising, full flash sites, forums, project management systems, intranets, and extranets. Most projects go through a development phase and more often than not I dictate how it gets done including the server type and language it will be scripted in if one is available. Through my years of development I've worked on a variety of platforms such as Apache and IIS. I have configured multiple sites as an administrator prior to launching as well as replicated the design architecture on my own computer to make sure both systems are identical in every aspect so that right before launching the site I know everything is set to go without any complications.

Using my previous knowledge of advertising as well as market research on each client and their audience, I build sites that users can identify with. I help select their URL's if possible, then build an ad campaign that revolves around the web as well as on print.

ILLUSTRATION ||

Illustrations are how I started in my early days using pencil and ink for my drawings. When I started college I used a variety of technical pens as well as airbrush while migrating to computer art. Often I'll create a logo or other art by hand, scan them in, then import the final pieces into Illustrator and/or Photoshop for editing and effects.

Since I started with Illustrator back in version 5.0, I have learned the ins and outs of designing using that tool for multiple types of projects. Websites, logos, characters, fonts, you name it, I build it in Illustrator then export it to Photoshop or Flash MX 2004 for interactive content. Since Illustrator outputs in vector format which can be used at any size without any distortion, this offers a high-end alternative which produces smaller file sizes. Also, some clients may not have access to QuarkXpress or InDesign but they will have Illustrator, which allows me to do many typesetting adjustments while working with plentiful amounts of layers.

OTHER ||

These are miscellaneous files I've created ranging from movies, flash files, desktops, and icons. I use an assortment of multimedia devices and applications to create these files, but I do not have samples of all of them. That would take quite a bit of time to set up.

Usual applications I've used include:

    WACOM TABLETS:
    Used to draw freeform using Illustrator, Freehand and Photoshop

    MACROMEDIA FLASH MX 2004:
    Used to create CD-ROMS, web sites, Flash intros and advertisements.

    ADOBE PREMIERE:
    Used to edit and output videos to After Effects or straight to web, CD or DVD.

    ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS:
    Used to create special effects imported from Premiere & produce hi-end CD-ROM, DVD or web based movies.

    QUICKTIME PRO:
    I use Quicktime Pro to do quick editing and outputting high quality movie files ready for CD-ROMS and web.

    LIGHTWAVE:
    A 3-D animation tool I use for creating logos, characters or places for use in different mediums.

Many of the works featured here are from a variety of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to smaller facilites that required some creative done. I offer branding to develop products and corporate image, research who they are, what they do, their competition, and most importantly, whom their clientele is. I then deliver elite promotional items that are able to contend with any adversary and capture the masses.

Once a client has seen their branding package they are ecstatic to continue building products. After approval, I develop a branding campaign with business cards, flyers, banners, catalogs, brochures, letterheads, notepads, mousepads, and a variety of other mediums. I also select the paper types used for printing as well as the most affordable way to get a pieces created. I write the content for pieces, giving each it's own distinct verbage, aimed to captures audiences. I use colors that deliver a feeling, action words that give incentive and put it all together to build an identity for each client.

Some of my original works display my commercial style on a more freeform basis. Having worked for an array of clients, I had to give each their own identity if it had not already been established. Otherwise I am not going to recreate an entirely new one for them unless I see the need or unless it's requested. On most occasions a design overhaul is desired though especially when engaging the online audiences.

Multimedia is the ability to offer a wide range of skillsets that crossover from each medium while still retaining its cutting-edge design, yet, elaborating using every means available. The best thing about doing print is that you get to actually hold the final product after hours of work. Die cuts can be used to produce origami-like products even. The web though, gives the audience a wide variety of interactivity. It allows you to truly deliver a cost-effective communication tool that can enable music, video, conferencing or just a simple form that will deliver an email to your inbox. It also has valuable metrics that show whom is clicking where, why and where users are coming from and how long users are staying on your site.

I've fused print and web, believe both should co-exist in any advertising initiative since each has powerful results and will sculpt the essence of a client. I look at everyday people, what they tend to pick up when I'm standing in line, what grabs their attention. Everyday for me is market research, everyone is my client; I am a walking multimedia fusionist. So are you everytime you swipe your credit card and click "Yes"...
