Zeus Perez is a multimedia artist that employs multiple forms of art to create his works for digital usages such as print, cd-roms and online.

He graduated from International Fine Arts College, now known as The Art Institute where he pursued a career in Commercial Art and has worked freelance for various projects such as community centers, chambers of commerce and museums, as well as full time for advertising agencies, publications, web companies and other industries.

What's currently your favorite site/project? I'd have to say Visual Thesaurus. It's an older site, but still tops my charts..

What’s the subject/topic of it? It's a visual dictionary/thesaurus where once you've searched for one word, multiple responses get aggregated.

What's so great about it? It's connections. Once your search word appears, other words follow connected via lines, and you can click those words right on your screen and expand your search. It also displays nouns, adjectives, verbs and you can roll over each word to get a simple definition. I use it often to think up different ideas for clients and see if they connect positively.

How would you improve it? Or would you? I'd love to see a Flash version of it maybe in 3-D.

What’s your job? I have multiple assignments for different clients. My days are spent working on a range of tasks, from creating marketing campaigns and promotions, to creating client web sites and backend integration, intranets and extranet designs. In this market you need to be versatile to be successful; simply knowing HTML or Flash, without being able to integrate just doesn’t cut it anymore

How did you get involved in this industry? Well I opened my sisters mail which had a catalog for International Fine Arts College. I called and set up an appointment, took over a sketchbook and they ask when I wanted to start. The following semester I was enrolled.

What’s your biggest Web (design) turn-on? Interaction. Getting inside the site and making it as user-friendly, yet sophisticated as possible. That and the fact that anyone can see your work from anywhere and you could pretty much work from anywhere as well.

What's ZeusDidIt about? In short, I tend to work on a variety of projects, zeusdidit.com fuses everything together.

Let's talk tech, what's your favourite platform to use? And do you have a favourite application? I'm versatile. I grew up on Apple computers, but over the years and as business goes have worked on all types of Windows computers as well. The Apple though has a wonderful graphical user interface, while the Windows machines has a lot of scripting advantages. In my dream world I'd say a hybrid of the two I'd build myself. As far as favourite application, I'd have to say Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Flash MX 2004 Pro and Dreamweaver MX 2004 in that order.

Do you use them in that order as well ? Yes. I have several work routines, it also depends on the type of product request.

Last question, where do you see yourself in the future? <Laughs out loud> I'm going to become a number and multiply myself times infinity and then divide myself into a squiggly line...
